First print of the upcoming Kong armature kit

I was really excited to finally be able to pull this Kong armature head off the printer this morning. I did a quick assembly to check fitment and I'm super happy with how everything is coming together.

The articulated jaw hinge works really well. I have it slightly notched so it locks into either a fully open or closed position. The teeth line up nicely in the closed position. The upper fang on the left side grazes the bottom fang ever so slightly. You can see a slight scratch on the lower tooth from opening and closing the jaw. I'll adjust this so any paintwork doesn't get rubbed off over time.

It looks like I still have some minor tweaking to do to the overall sculpt. A few nudges here and there. I may put a quick coat of paint on this just to see where I am in terms of texture. I don't want to over emphasize it, but it does seem as though I've lost some detail. It's tricky to find the perfect balance sometimes.

Kong Armature bust - individual pieces.
Kong's skull consists of 11 separate parts.

I'll be adding more pics of the the rest of the armature as I get the parts printed out. I may decide to add them to this post instead of starting a new one.

I hope all of you Kong fans out there are as excited as we are about this kit! With Bruce getting all of the attention lately- I didn't want you to think we forgot about him.
