Our next kit release will be a 'cinematic' version of Bruce the Shark from JAWS.
I promised quite a few people that I would do a closed version of the shark and I'm happy to report that he's just about finished. I was hoping to have him ready back in June, for the anniversary of the film, but I wasn't able to pull it off. Bruce, like Kong, is one of my all-time favorites, so it was more important to get Bruce right than to try and rush it to meet some arbitrary deadline.
I could have just taken my existing sculpt of Bruce, closed off his open side, and presented that as a new kit, but that would feel dishonest to me somehow. This latest Bruce is a completely new sculpt. Nothing from the original made it through untouched. His entire head, mouth and lower jaw were completely redone as were the gills, fins, etc.. While it probably didn't make sense, from a business perspective, to invest this much time on another Bruce kit - I'm glad I did. I'm really happy with how he looks and I don't think I can do any better than this.
Please keep in mind, that the included pics are low-quality renderings. He's very glossy and looks a little cartoonish right now. Thanks to AI, I have to be careful with the types of images I share. I think you'll be able to better appreciate the revisions once he's printed and properly painted. I still have some detailing and tweaking to do all around, but this should give you a sense of how the finished product will look.

I've decided to leave the base very simple. I wanted this version to have more of a museum or prop feel to it and I didn't want to do an elaborate ocean floor base that might detract from Bruce or look out of context. The base will most likely be wood and the mounting pylons will be clear. The kit will come with both a standard Jaws logo as well as a 50th anniversary logo that can be swapped out. If I get a lot of requests for the obligatory scuba tank and barrels; I'll create an add-on pack containing those items at a later date.

I will be releasing this version in the same scale as the mechanical Bruce, but he will be a bit longer and probably closer to 22-inches due to some proportional tweaks that I felt were necessary. I'm also planning to do a 36-inch version, but that will most likely be a very limited edition. Feel free to leave feedback below regarding scales, availability and the add-on pack. I would love to hear your thoughts.
'Cinematic Bruce' should start shipping in September, 2026!
